This series is a conversation, or maybe a memory or even a document. It is a dialogue and an exchange. It exists in my head, inside my camera and on my phone.
The images are often of dead animals or dead feelings. They are records of small accidents, which maybe I was involved in or maybe I witnessed. There are fragments of conversations, of words which were spoken or overheard or even imagined.
The text is an important as the images. The text is sometimes a response to the images and sometimes the images are a response to the text. There are some memories that we bury deep. Too painful to revisit. There are many I have completely blocked out.
This series has been shown as an installation and changes each time it has been exhibited. The images are placed on the wall and are accompanied by coloured vinyl’s which are placed on the wall and floor – interrupting the gallery space.
Together with the wall images there is an A5 zine which accompanies the series. The zine is made up of hand written text and images. The red motif which weaves itself throughout the book is a reference to the darkroom. The darkroom is a place where memories are developed and cropped and rewritten.
The size and format of the book is very important. I want it to be intimate, disposable, and conversational.
Love and pain. What once we adored is no more.

PIPPA HEALY is an artist based in London. Her practice is concerned with themes around loss, longing, violence and grief. Her handmade ‘Zines’, which are often raw, abject and diaristic in style are central to her practice. Her work has been exhibited internationally and is part of a number of private collections. Her series ‘Sick’ was selected for Festival Circulation(s) in Paris. She was also named by Gup magazine ‘Fresh Eyes Photo’ book presenting 100 photographers emerging in Europe.
Her zines are sold in The Photographers Gallery in London, and The Library Project in Dublin. They are held in the Martin Parr Foundation in Bristol and in many private collections.
Pippa studied photography at UAL Central St Martins and graduated from distinction from Westminster University in MA Photographic Studies in 2016.
She is currently expanding her practice studying for an MA Printmaking at UAL Camberwell.
DON’T COME LOOKING FOR ME is a limited edition of 99 copies. It is available to buy at The Photographers Gallery bookshop in London and The Library Project in Dublin. It has been exhibited as part of the Photobookshow K in Nida, Lithuania. The photo series has been exhibited at UAL Camberwell, All in 3 in London and Salon 19 Photofusion.
